Nigerian footballer, Etim Esin, who was popularly called ‘African Maradona’ during his playing days because he was good at his work and very strong, is enjoying the fruit of his labour.
Etim Esin became the first player from Nigeria to ply his trade in the Belgian top flight in 1988. He was nicknamed African Maradona by legendary Nigerian radio commentator Ernest Okonkwo.
He was the only Nigerian footballer with the most controversies during his football career. He had been compared to both Diego Maradona and then to Austin Jay Jay Okocha. He was at the pinnacle of his career in Belgium when Daniel Amokachi was entering the football scene there. Both skillfull and deadly with the ball, he is capable of powering shots from both feet.
He represented his country at the 1987 FIFA World Youth Championship and in 6 FIFA World Cup qualification matches. He was left out of the team that represented Nigeria at the 1994 World Cup due to the fact that there was a report that he was banned by FIFA for allegedly raping a minor during his playing days with Lierse SK, a claim that was later proven to be false 25 years later.
The former Super Eagles midfielder, who is married to Mariam and is the proud father of who kids (Magda and Etim Esin Jnr), has taken to social media to show off his newly imported car.
According to Esin, the car was a gift from an ex-teammate.

Etim Esin can be remembered for playing for club sides sides, including Iwuanyanwu Nationale now Heartland, Flash Flamingoes, Calabar Rovers, Gent, Lokeren, Lierse SK, Kayserispor and Eagle Cement.
